Introduction

On the 28th of February, we gathered at Uhuru Park for a special milestone—our 2nd anniversary as a team. What began as a simple idea rooted in care and compassion has grown into a meaningful journey of mental health advocacy, community service, and connection. This day was not just about celebration. It was about pausing, reflecting, and realigning ourselves with the purpose that brought us together in the first place.

A Day of Reflection and Connection

Surrounded by the calm of nature and the openness of the park, we created a safe and relaxed space to reconnect—not just as teammates, but as individuals who share a common mission.

We spent time reflecting on our journey over the past two years:

The lives we’ve touched through our outreach

The conversations we’ve had with children in our community

The growth we’ve experienced both personally and as a group

There was a sense of pride, but also humility—recognizing how much we’ve learned and how much more there is to do.

Revisiting Our Purpose

One of the most meaningful parts of the day was revisiting and refining the topics we address when engaging with children.

As a team focused on mental health and social well-being, we understand that our message must continue to evolve. Through open discussions, we:

Reviewed the mental health and social topics we currently cover

Reflected on what has been impactful and what can be improved

Explored new ideas to better connect with and support children

This process reminded us that growth is intentional. To serve better, we must continuously learn, adapt, and listen.

Sharing, Listening, and Learning

The conversations throughout the day were honest and thoughtful. Everyone had a chance to share their experiences, insights, and hopes for the future.

Some moments were light and filled with laughter, while others were deeply reflective. These exchanges strengthened our bond and reinforced the trust within the team.

We were reminded that our strength lies in:

Supporting one another

Being open and vulnerable

Working together toward a shared vision

Food, Laughter, and Simple Joys

Of course, no gathering is complete without good food—and we had plenty of it. From delicious snacks to satisfying meals, sharing food became another way of connecting.

Between bites and conversations, there was laughter, storytelling, and a sense of ease that made the day even more special. These simple moments added warmth to the experience and reminded us of the joy in togetherness.

Looking Ahead

As we marked this milestone, our focus naturally shifted to the future. With renewed clarity and energy, we are stepping into the next chapter with:

Stronger purpose

Clearer direction

Deeper commitment to our mission

We aim to continue creating safe spaces, having meaningful conversations, and making a positive impact in the lives of children and our community.

Gratitude and Commitment

This anniversary was a reminder of how far we’ve come—and the power of coming together with intention.

We are grateful for each member of the team, for the dedication, passion, and heart that everyone brings. As we move forward, we carry with us not just memories from this day, but a renewed commitment to grow, support, and make a difference—together.

Here’s to more impact, more connection, and many more years ahead.
